MEL DESIGN

MEL is an interior design office in Amsterdam created by two Brazilian architects who had their destinies crossed in the city. MEL stands for the junction of their names; Marilia and Elayne. In Portuguese this name means honey.

Honey is a food, usually found in a sugary liquid state, which is produced by bees from the nectar of flowers. In dreams, the meaning of honey is as sweet as in reality. Dreams about honey indicate that you will achieve wealth, endless joy and pure love. Inspired by this definition the architects created a logo that is a reference to bee houses where honey is produced. The logo represents housing, residence, a place of cooperation and interaction. With this in mind, these dreamy little Bees opened their interior office in Amsterdam, to create lovely living places with their endless enthusiasm. Through design they transform the daily life of their customers.
